CTP Managed Technology Services (MTS)
CTP was established as a Managed Services and Consulting company, and the principals of the company come from a Managed Services background. Our service covers end-user support, PCs and user devices, servers, networking, remote access, security – in short, we will take full ownership of the IT network. Our terms are fixed price, and we work very proactively to identify and address problems before they impact production services.
Managed Services with piece of mind: MTS Secure
MTS Secure is based on the standard MTS offer, designed to include a core set of security measures – those that we suggest should be as commonplace as the good Internet firewall that has become standard best practice for business.
Two-Factor Authentication
Web-reputation service
Compartmentalization
Account privileges
Outbound Internet connections blocked by default.
Why is it recommended?
We know that the conventional tools of firewall and anti-virus software, while very important, are no longer sufficient to prevent compromise of our networks. Attention, then, turns to how to most effectively and transparently handle this reality.
Five measures are listed, above, that are proven, effective, and in our opinion should become standard best practice. The goal behind these measures is to make it very difficult for a hacker to explore your network or access the servers on which information is stored.
You might notice that monitoring and intrusion detection are not included in this core list. CTP thinks highly of monitoring, and of numerous other security measures. We love to speak to these topics, and routinely implement these for area companies. Our essential message here, though, is that these five security measures should be implemented by all companies, that they are effective and can make a significant difference.
Frequently Asked Questions
Veeam backups copied to the Cloud Service Repository are in a form that can be easily and quickly mounted as a Virtual Machine. At this point the VM is the same server as had been running in your datacenter, at the point of the last backup. Depending upon the nature of the disaster, your company network can be connected directly to the CTP datacenter via VPN, or your employees can connect directly and securely to the datacenter from any Internet accessible location. All connections are secure and isoloated to your compay.
Most of our customers operate a Veeam B&R server in their local datacenter, licensed on a rental basis, and backing all servers to local storage – most often a NAS device. Veeam Cloud Connect, hosted by CTP, appears as a repository to the local Veeam server, allowing for backup sets to be copied off site.
CTP can present as a remote repository in this scenario, as well, and offering the same Disaster Recovery resources.
